How to Install a Pearce Extension

The Pearce extension is an aftermarket product that adds additional grip to 9 mm subcompact Glock handguns. The extension replaces the Glock magazine bottom to extend the length of the standard magazine. The lengthened magazine protrudes further below the subcompact grip, creating additional room to wrap the little finger around the grip for better handling and enhanced aiming. It also increases magazine capacity by two rounds. This extension installs with one simple tool.

Instructions

Things You'll Need

  • Glock tool or small pin punch
    • 1
Unload the piston and engage the safety.
    • 2
      Remove the magazine.
    • 3
Press the small button on the bottom of the magazine to unlock the magazine's bottom plate. Use the Glock tool supplied with the pistol, or a small pin punch, to press the button.
    • 4
Press the sides of the magazine on either side of the locking lugs to compress the inner components. Slowly slide the magazine bottom plate and stock insert off the magazine. Keep your thumb pressed over the magazine as the plate slides away, to restrain the magazine spring from ejecting.
    • 5
Slowly remove your thumb and release your fingers from the side of the magazine to gradually decompress the magazine spring.
    • 6
Install the replacement insert on top of the magazine spring, with the slots in the insert facing foward.
    • 7
Depress the insert and compress the magazine spring back into the magazine.
    • 8
Slide the Pearce extension on the end of the magazine in place of the original magazine bottom.
    • 9
Verify that the magazine inserts completely into the grip and locks properly.
