Bence Jones protein cast and myeloma cell

Bence Jones protein cast (myeloma cast) from the urinary sediment of a patient with lambda-Bence Jones type multiple myeloma. Sternheimer stein, X200.

Bence Jones protein cast (myeloma cast) from the urinary sediment of the preceding patient. Note the characteristic appearance of yarn wound into a bundle. Identification of Bence Jones protein casts is possible only by immunochemical staining with antiserum to the L-chain. Sternheimer stain, X1000.

Bence Jones protein cast (myeloma cast) from the urinary sediment of the preceding patient. Immunofluorescent stain with FITC-labeled anti-human globulin IgG/F(ab)2, X400.

A myeloma cell from the urinary sediment of the preceding patient. The cell looks like a grape cell containing Russell bodies. May-Giemsa stain, X1000.

Another myeloma cell from the urinary sediment of the preceding patient. The cell is large, and has two nuclei and halo. May-Giemsa stain, X1000.

Cells, which are positive by immunofluorescent stain with FITC-labeled anti-human globulin IgG/F(ab)2, from the urinary sediment of the preceding patient. I think that these cells are myeloma cells, renal tubular epithelia, or macrophages containing degenerated globulin or L-chain. X400.
